Golitsyn Estate Museum
About museum
Since then the house has been one of the city's most important museum sites. The estate of Prince Golitsyn was built in 1815–1818 under the supervision of Grigory Kostarev and Mikhail Chirkov. The building's design may belong to the famous architect A. N. Voronikhin. The estate is located near the Transfiguration Cathedral on the bank of the Kama River. The mansion was constructed in the Classical style and is one of the principal components of the Novo-Usolye architectural ensemble. In addition to the main house, the estate includes a wing, a wrought-iron fence and stone pillars topped with urns. The museum building is an architectural monument of the first third of the 19th century. The traditional layout has been preserved: service rooms are on the ground floor and the formal rooms are on the second floor. The Golitsyn Estate was the first restoration project in Novo-Usolye. In 1988 the building was converted into a museum and became part of the Usolye branch of the Berezniki Historical and Local History Museum. Since then the house has been one of the city's most important museum sites.
