Museum of the Russian Patriarchate is a unique project implemented through the joint efforts of the Church and the state. It is located in the center of Arzamas, in the magistrate building, which is a cultural heritage monument and the only unaltered administrative building of its type and period of construction in the country. The museum opened on August 1, 2013, and presents an exhibition dedicated to the life and activities of Patriarchs Nikon and Sergius, as well as the patriarchs of the 20th — early 21st centuries. Liturgical vestments and personal belongings of the most holy patriarchs are on display. The museum is popular in the Nizhny Novgorod region and actively participates in events of the pilgrimage‑tourism cluster 'Arzamas — Diveyevo — Sarov'. It has been the winner of grant competitions three times and received the 'Best New Tourism Site' award. A children's excursion bureau is available at the museum.
