Peter I Museum
About museum
The Peter I Museum is located in the ancient village of Tolbukhino (formerly Davydkovo) on the Moscow–Arkhangelsk road, which the emperor traveled three times during his journeys to Arkhangelsk. The collection features engravings by Fragonard, Boucher and Caravaggio, as well as paintings depicting Peter I, his carved furniture, and weapons — including a trophy sabre with an inlaid scabbard, allegedly from a Turkish admiral, a battle axe of Louis XV, admiral's rapiers and boarding pistols. During your visit you will learn many interesting facts about the life of Russia’s first emperor and about the victories of the Russian army and navy in the war with Sweden. The museum was opened in the Kislov merchants' teahouse.
