Narvskaya Zastava Museum
About museum
The exhibition in the former house of Ludwig Gecht continues the history of the Narvskaya Zastava in a new context. In 1899 a building for an office and a shop selling sewing machines was built here. The museum exhibition features an office desk, an arithmometer (mechanical calculator), office supplies and a counter displaying models of sewing machines. You can also learn about the many industrial enterprises that operated in this area, as well as the semi-legal district party committee that was located in the former tea room "Travnikov's Tea" in 1917. In the museum you can see a fragment of an entrepreneur's study and a worker's room from the early 20th century, part of a postwar communal apartment, and more. Visiting this place will let you feel the atmosphere of those times.
