Mozzhukhin Brothers Museum
About museum
The only Mozzhukhin Brothers Museum in Russia was opened in 1989 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the great countryman Ivan Ilyich Mozzhukhin. The museum is located in the house where the famous actor and opera singer spent his childhood.
The exhibition is filled with photographs of the Mozzhukhin brothers in life and in their roles, and with materials about their creative activities. The centerpiece is an original rare poster (Paris, 1923) of the fantastic film "The Burning Bonfire", presented by Alexander Ilyich's wife, Kleopatra Andreyevna Mozzhukhina. In this film Ivan Mozzhukhin served as screenwriter and director.
The museum recreates the atmosphere in which the Mozzhukhin brothers lived and worked. Today it contains about 200 exhibits, including authentic items and documents. The museum houses discs with recordings of the films in which Ivan Mozzhukhin appeared, unique audio cassettes with recordings of Alexander Mozzhukhin's voice, old posters, and memorial items from the Mozzhukhin family home.
