Cryptography Museum
About museum
The Cryptography Museum, the first and only science-and-technology museum in Russia dedicated to cryptography, opened in December 2021. It displays a unique collection of ciphering equipment and archival documents, many of which were declassified specifically for exhibition in the museum. The exhibition tells the story of the past, present, and future of cryptography, and of the people and inventions that changed the world. The museum features historical objects, documents, and interactive exhibits that explain in plain language the essence of complex cryptographic mechanisms and mathematical concepts. The museum runs a publishing program and temporary exhibitions, and plans are underway to open an educational center that will host lectures, workshops, film screenings, and conferences.
