Izhevsk Museum

On June 12, 2014, a museum opened in Izhevsk, located in an historic building — the General's House. The building was constructed in 1854–1857, and in the 19th century generals, the directors of the Izhevsk factory, lived here. The General's House is currently undergoing restoration, and visitors can tour the rooms on the second floor. The museum's collection includes household items, furniture, clothing, photographs and works of art, including pieces by contemporary Izhevsk artists. Special attention is paid to collecting the personal stories of the city's residents. The museum's permanent exhibition is dedicated to the history of the General's House and its inhabitants. Everyone is invited to learn about the history of the city and the house.
