About museum
In 1985, a Local History Museum was opened at the Kutlu-Bukash secondary school; in 1987 it was awarded the title "School Museum" by decision of the Ministry of Education of the Tatar ASSR. Over many years of the museum team's work, new exhibits and archival documents were added. In 2005 a new building was constructed, housing a new exhibition created by a creative group from the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. Since January 2011 the museum has been a branch of the Rybno-Slobodsky Local History Museum. Its collections include artifacts from the Challyn archaeological site, as well as household items used by rural residents of the 19th–20th centuries. Documents and photographs that attest to the rich history of the region and its inhabitants are also preserved here. As of today, the museum's main collection contains more than 3,000 items that are available to visitors year-round.
