About museum
On June 5, 1988, a museum was opened in honor of the 50th anniversary of the city of Lesozavodsk; in 1989 it became part of the V.K. Arseniev Museum of the History of the Far East and has since been one of the region's cultural centers. The museum offers visitors exhibition halls where the city's history is preserved. The exhibits include materials on the exploration and development of the Far East and the Primorye lands, as well as on the Trans-Siberian Railway and the settlement of the area by arrivals from central Russia. In addition, the museum features a local history hall that highlights the history and culture of Lesozavodsk, as well as the interiors of a Cossack house and a peasant hut, which help to understand the everyday life and way of life of settlers from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
