About museum
In 1999 the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of the Far Eastern State University was opened; it holds more than 300,000 items. The exhibition presents the history of the region from ancient times to the present day. The collection of Neolithic-period items is particularly notable. The museum also displays exhibits reflecting the lifestyle of the Udege people and Russian settlers of the late 19th–early 20th centuries, collected by the university's faculty and students.
