The Maloyaroslavets Museum, opened in 2002, is dedicated to the history of the town, which at one time was a trade and spiritual center and a fortress that defended the southeastern borders of Rus'. The main focus is on the life and military feats of Vladimir the Brave, the town's founder, as well as on the lives of his son and grandson. The museum also displays a collection of archaeological finds from the Maloyaroslavets settlement, starting with mammoth bones. Here you can also see a reconstructed interior of a wooden straw-covered hut, as well as various household items and peasant tools, and objects made of birch bark, wood, straw and clay.
