Literary and Art Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War named after I.A. Vasiliev
About museum
On February 23, 1988, at the initiative of RSFSR Lenin and State Prizes laureate Ivan Afanasyevich Vasiliev, the museum was opened. It contained autographs, photographs, newspapers, books and other documents related to frontline writers in the region that Ivan Afanasyevich had collected during his years of journalistic work. On the second floor visitors are shown items and documents about the Great Patriotic War, as well as embroidered towels, handwoven bedspreads, wooden and clay utensils that illustrate the craftsmanship of Pskov peasants. On the first floor there is a literary-musical salon and an exhibition hall. In addition, on June 5, 1991, at the initiative of I.A. Vasiliev, the House of Ecology and Nature was opened, featuring exhibits on "Development of life on Earth", "Native Land", "Do No Harm", and "Homestead". The museum grounds include two guest houses that can be rented by rural tourism enthusiasts, who are invited to visit the lakes, the pine forest, breathe clean air and view log houses.
