About museum
\r\nIn 2006, the Leninsky District Museum was opened in one of the oldest merchant buildings of the town of Leninsk. The building was constructed by brothers Alexander and Fyodor Konyakins in 1902. It is a two-story red-brick mansion with decorative brickwork around the window openings and magnificent arched gates. On the upper part of the building there are turrets, decorative dormer windows and ornate downspouts. Currently the administration of the Leninsk urban settlement occupies the second floor, while the Leninsky District Museum and other administrative institutions are located on the first floor. The building is a monument of masonry architecture. The museum features five permanent exhibitions dedicated to the history of the native region from the 13th century to the present day. The museum's main collection comprises 1,910 storage units, and the scientific and auxiliary collection amounts to 593. The exhibition hall's concluding theme comprises exhibitions by the district's artists, folk craftsmen and applied artists.
