Leninsk-Kuznetsky Local History Museum

\r\nLeninsk-Kuznetsky Local History Museum is among the top five museums of the region and is classified as a fourth-category museum. It was founded in 1934 by Resolution No. 954 of the City Council dated December 1, based on interest in the natural riches of Kuzbass and the need to study the region. Alexander Mitrofanovich Stroganov was appointed head of the museum. In the 1950s–1970s, enthusiasts and local historians, the biologist-naturalist Alexander Ivanovich Nikatov, historians-local historians and veterans of the Great Patriotic War made a significant contribution to the museum's development. Today the museum's collections hold more than 20,000 items of natural, material and spiritual culture. The exhibitions allow visitors to trace the history of the city from its inception and offer educational tours of the city's landmarks, the region's natural riches, the history of the Kolchuginsky (Leninsky) mine, political repressions, and more. Tourist routes devoted to the historical settlement 'Kolchuginsky mine', Orthodox sites in Kolchugino, and others are also available.
