Textil Cultural Space
About museum
Textil is located in the operating "Krasny Perekop" factory in Yaroslavl. Today it houses both industrial textile production and a post‑industrial creative space with a museum and a calendar of cultural events.
At a meeting in the Museum‑Factory, guests with a guide will talk about how, over the factory’s 300‑year history, it produced fabrics, shaped the city, the factory worker, and their way of life. Visitors will relate the factory’s history to their own, sharing reflections on time, personal purpose, professional dynasties, family history, and participation in city life.
During the tour you will learn:
how the steam engine hall became a canteen, and the canteen became a museum;
what production stages a bale of cotton must pass through to become a roll of fabric;
which events became milestones in the factory’s history, and why the Krasny Perekop factory district is a special area on the map of Yaroslavl.
You will hear stories of local residents, reports by Soviet directors, and the sounds of textile production.
