About museum
Vologda Museum of Childhood is not just a museum but a private family collection that was assembled over more than 20 years. The museum opened in December 2019 and houses over 3,000 Soviet-era toys. They reflect the historical reality in which they were created. To ensure the museum is of benefit, active volunteer work is carried out. Staff study the history of toy production in the Vologda region, plan to hold an exhibition and to open a regional architectural monument — the house of the merchant's wife Krasnenkova. In addition, the museum invites children and parents to the programs "Toy Weekends" and "Toy Holidays," which help parents learn to play with their children and children to play with their parents.
