Local History Museum
About museum
In 1972 a local history museum was established on the basis of the House of Pioneers. Since July 1, 2011 it became part of the municipal autonomous institution "Culture" and has 2,951 exhibits at its disposal. It features an assembly and exhibition hall and three exhibition rooms: Russian Izba, Ethnography of the Peoples of Siberia, and Meeting of Epochs. The museum offers guided tours for schoolchildren and adults, as well as children's tour-games. For visitors there are walking, bus, and bicycle tours around Bely Yar with visits to the settlement's sights. The museum also runs the "Women's Crafts Workshop", where people of different professions and ages can share skills and hobbies. The works of the craftswomen are exhibited in the museum, and they also take part in regional festivals and exhibitions.
