Kovrov Historical and Memorial Museum
About museum
The city museum is a recognized center of cultural life. It has existed for more than 70 years and has over 20,000 exhibits. Its exhibition halls present more than 150 traveling art exhibitions. Musical and literary evenings and historical exhibitions are held here, serving as a basis for local-history work with schoolchildren and youth. Since 1994, Christmas historical and local-history readings have been held annually, and collections are published based on their materials. The main museum building houses historical exhibitions dedicated to the Kovrov land from the earliest times to the 9th century, the county town at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, and figures who live forever in the people's memory.
