The exhibition complex is located on the grounds of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra in the Riznichny (Treasury) building, specially constructed in the 18th century to house the monastery's precious collection of relics and works of church art, on the basis of which the Sergiev Posad State Historical and Art Museum-Reserve was established in 1920. The building is part of the Lavra's architectural ensemble and is a cultural heritage monument of federal significance; it is also among the sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Over 20,700 items are exhibited in 12 exhibition halls.

The exhibition 'Relics and Treasures of the Trinity-Sergius Monastery of the 11th–17th centuries' presents memorial items associated with one of the most venerated saints in Orthodoxy — the monastery's founder, St. Sergius of Radonezh: precious offerings from the great Moscow princes and tsars to the most famous icon 'The Holy Trinity' painted by Andrei Rublev; silk- and pearl-embroidered coverings bearing images of saints; gold and silver church vessels set with gemstones; priestly vestments; books and manuscripts with precious metal covers.

The exhibition 'Relics and Treasures of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra of the 18th–19th centuries' features donations from Empresses Anna Ioannovna, Elizabeth Petrovna, Catherine II; Metropolitans of Moscow Platon (Levshin) and Filaret (Drozdov); Trinity archimandrites Varlaam Vysotsky, Arseny Mogilyansky, Lavrenty Khotsyatovsky; the venerable Antony Medvedev; and members of notable families such as the Sheins, Golitsyns, Tatishchevs, and others. Most of the works were created by renowned masters from Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Currently, the Treasury's exhibition hall is hosting a temporary exhibition 'The Magic Gardens of Galina and Nikolai Simankin,' talented artists who have made a significant contribution to preserving and developing the traditions of national woodcarving art.
