\r\nThe history of the Kingisepp Local History Museum began with an exhibition on the town's history, which was held in the 1950s at the House of Culture. On November 5, 1960, thanks to the efforts of the local intelligentsia, a people's museum was established. In 1966 it received state status and was renamed the Kingisepp Historical and Local Lore Museum. The collection includes items reflecting the history of the town and district. The museum offers a wide range of services: organizing exhibitions, cultural events, lectures and guided tours. Today this museum is a source of information about the town and its surroundings, helping people better understand the region's history.
