Kazansky Local History Museum named after V.S. Arzhilovsky
About museum
In 1990, the Presidium of the Kazansky District Council of People's Deputies of Tyumen Oblast decided to establish a district local history museum. V. S. Arzhilovsky was appointed as the research employee; he had long collected everything related to the district's history. In 1994 the museum was allocated the second floor of a newly built building, and since 1997 the museum has borne the name of its founder and first director V. S. Arzhilovsky. Here you can see paintings, applied art items, numismatic objects, archaeology, ethnography, photographs, documents, rare books and other exhibits. Endangered species of wildlife are also represented. The museum has five permanent exhibitions presenting the history of the settlement and development of Kazansky District, as well as the glory and valor of our fellow countrymen.
