Kashira Local History Museum

Kashira Local History Museum is located in the historic part of the town of Kashira, near the Assumption Cathedral. It has collected more than 25,000 items in its collection related to the history of the region. Visitors can learn about the Kashira military fortress of the 15th–17th centuries, the life of the district merchant town, and the Kashira zemstvo. The museum's archaeological section displays artifacts found during excavations of the Old Kashir and Mutenkov settlement sites. In addition, visitors can see architectural monuments of the 18th–19th centuries and learn the town's history through its monuments. The museum hosts exhibitions from its own and private collections, art exhibitions, chamber music evenings, lectures, and museum educational programs. There is also an interactive in-museum exhibit "Silvery Clouds" dedicated to the world-renowned researcher of silvery (noctilucent) clouds, N. I. Grishin.
