Local History Museum
About museum
In February 1996 a local history museum was opened in the Pustoshkinsky District. It was established on the basis of the museum of Pustoshkinskaya Secondary School and the town's Museum of Military Glory. It has four halls: two of them are dedicated to the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, one of which is devoted to the partisan movement in the district, the divisions that liberated the district, and local heroes. Another hall contains a search-and-recovery room with artifacts found during excavations, as well as exhibits dedicated to airmen from crews that perished. Many types of weapons can be seen in the two military halls. The fourth hall hosts exhibitions, where 5–6 exhibitions of paintings by artists from the Pskov region and other regions of Russia are presented throughout the year.
