State Museum-Reserve 'Phanagoria'
About museum
The Phanagoria Museum-Reserve was founded in 2014 on the site of an archaeological monument consisting of the ruins of an ancient city that existed for more than 1,500 years. A distinctive feature of this place is that there are virtually no modern buildings, which helps preserve the natural-landscape historical and cultural environment and allows academic expeditions to be conducted. The collection on display includes unique artifacts that tell about the life of Greek settlers and the events that took place here in the ancient and medieval periods. The ruins of ancient structures allow visitors to imagine the distant past and feel connected to the course of world history. All of this makes Phanagoria an unforgettable place for visitors.
