The Phanagoria Museum-Reserve was founded in 2014 on the site of an archaeological monument consisting of the ruins of an ancient city that existed for more than 1,500 years. A distinctive feature of this place is that there are virtually no modern buildings, which helps preserve the natural-landscape historical and cultural environment and allows academic expeditions to be conducted.
