About museum
The Anatoly Vasilyevich Sidorov Museum was opened in 1930 together with the Mining and Metallurgical Institute at the Department of Mineralogy, Petrography and Mineral Resources. For 33 years, until 1991, the museum was headed by the leading scholar and organizer, Associate Professor Anatoly Vasilyevich Sidorov. Currently the museum's collection consists of more than 27,000 specimens and is continually supplemented with new exhibits. The main part of the exhibition is devoted to the courses and seminars of the relevant departments. Thus, the Anatoly Vasilyevich Sidorov Museum is one of the most important scientific institutions in Russia.
