The Evenki Local History Museum was founded on November 7, 1927. It is the only public repository of historical relics of the cultures of the Evenks, Eseysky Yakuts, and Kets living in the territory of Evenkia. The museum's unique collections include scientific, archaeological, and ethnographic collections (national clothing, antique women's jewelry, harness decorations for reindeer, Evenki calendars, musical instruments made of wood, bone and metal), religious items (shamanic costume, drums, amulets), numismatic and applied arts (birch bark items, bone items, fur appliqués, bead embroidery), fine art, as well as documentary materials and personal belongings of people who contributed to the development of Evenkia.
