About museum
The exhibition-memorial branch 'Presnya' of the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia is located in the Presnensky District of Moscow, known for the revolutionary events of 1905–1907, 1917, 1991 and 1993. The branch was opened in 1924 in a wooden house where, in 1917, the first legal Presnya district committee of the Bolshevik Party and the Presnya Military Revolutionary Committee operated. It features the unique exhibition 'History of Russian Everyday Life. 20th century', which offers a vivid view of the country's history through the lives and fates of particular people. You can also see an exhibition in the memorial house dedicated to the revolutionary events of 1905 and 1917, as well as the Great Patriotic War, and the diorama 'Heroic Presnya. 1905', which is the largest in Europe.
