Voivode's House
About museum
The Voivode's House, built in 1673-1688, is the first stone civic building in Solikamsk. It has one floor, a tall cellar, and in the early 18th century an upper floor was later added for the voivode's chancellery. It combines two styles — civic, with decorative elements on the windows and doorways, and defensive, as seen in the thick walls, loopholes, passages within the walls and underground passages. Since the 1930s the Voivode's House has housed a local history museum, and currently it contains the history department, which presents the exhibition "The Old Capital of the Perm Land", dedicated to the history of Solikamsk in the 15th–17th centuries.
