House of Craftsmen

The House of Craftsmen is a two-story wooden building decorated with ornamental wood carving, standing for more than 170 years. It belonged to the Volkonsky princes and to titular counsellor Olkhovskaya, and from 1902 to the Slesarev family, Kaluga merchant–timber industrialists. Since 1992 the building has served as a club and museum, organizing a permanent exhibition of works by masters of folk crafts from Kaluga and the Kaluga region, as well as tours, exhibitions, interactive activities, rites, workshops, concerts by a folk ensemble, and the sale of folk craft products.
