Velimir Khlebnikov House-Museum
About museum
Velimir Khlebnikov House-Museum, the only museum of the poet in the world, was opened in 1993. The basis of its exposition is the family collection donated to the poet's nephew. It includes a family library in six languages, a family photo album, editions of Khlebnikov published during his lifetime, as well as his personal belongings. In the exhibition halls are paintings and graphics by Vera Khlebnikova, Petr and Mai Miturich, as well as Stepan Botiev's graphic series "Khlebnikov's Field". The museum has participated in the International Khlebnikov Readings in Astrakhan, Moscow, Amsterdam and Lyon. Its staff are two-time laureates of the Presidential Grant of the Russian Federation and the Velimir Khlebnikov Literary Prize. They developed the project "The Hunger of Space", which won a prestigious competition. The project's goal is the modernization of the exhibition space "Velimir's Room" through renewal of the exhibition and use of innovative multimedia equipment. The museum also runs the poetry studio "Klyuch", exhibitions, and youth meetings on Thursdays.
