Pirogov House-Museum
About museum
In July 1995 the memorial house-museum of the Pirogov brothers was opened in the village of Novoselki. The house-museum was created over many years thanks to the dedication of people who wanted to preserve and pass on to future generations the history of their native land. The idea arose after the demolition of the Ryazan singers' house in 1977, and in 1988 a museum was opened on a voluntary basis. Thanks to the selfless efforts and enthusiasm of people the house and outbuildings were restored, and the museum was equipped with a unique collection of more than 1,650 museum items received from the descendants of the Pirogovs. The museum's exhibition was developed by exhibition designer O. G. Atyasov and represents an attempt to combine a village house with items related to the singers' creative work.
