House-museum 'The First House of Norilsk'
About museum
Part of the Museum and Exhibition Complex 'Museum of Norilsk', the House-museum 'The First House of Norilsk' was built in the summer of 1921 by N. N. Urvantsev's first geological exploration expedition, which gave rise to Norilsk. He spent his first winter there. The house-museum presents an exhibition dedicated to the everyday life of the 1923–1924 geological expedition and the relocations of the house. It is one of the city's most important historical monuments and is located in the center, in a small park next to the main building of the museum complex. In 2017 a monument to N. N. Urvantsev was unveiled here, and in 2021 the house-museum celebrated its 100th anniversary. That year Russian Post issued commemorative envelopes featuring an image of the house in honor of the anniversary.
