In August 1990, the first exhibition about the life and work of the great Russian poet Nikolai Mikhailovich Rubtsov was opened in a picturesque location on the banks of the Tolshma River. At first it consisted of two rooms, and gradually it was possible to free the entire building. For the poet's anniversary in January 1996, the museum was opened in one of the former orphanage buildings where N. M. Rubtsov spent his childhood. Various items related to the poet's life, as well as works by his followers, are kept here. The museum hosts celebrations, literary evenings, and master classes, drawing attention to the life and work of the great poet.
