Yuri and Valentina Gagarin House Museum
About museum
On April 12, 2021, after renovation the Yuri Gagarin Museum was reopened and expanded. It now consists of several halls. In the "Road to Space" hall, visitors learn about Gagarin's stay in Orenburg, his legendary flight, and the development of cosmonautics in Russia. In another hall there are interactive exhibits demonstrating technologies and explaining space phenomena. The museum also features the memorial room of the Goryachev family, where Valentina Ivanovna Gagarina lived with her parents. The wedding of the world's first cosmonaut took place here. Visitors can also visit the kitchen in the former merchant mansion, as well as a hall recreating the interior of the "Iskra" cinema that Valentina Ivanovna used to attend. The museum also has a conference hall for hosting various events.
