Morozov House. Gorokhovets Historical and Architectural Museum
About museum
At the beginning of the 20th century a wooden teremok was built, in which elements of Art Nouveau and the Russian style were beautifully combined. The main façade of the house was decorated with carved wooden elements created by the famous Gorokhovets carpenters known as "yakushi." The building's asymmetric massing was completed by two small towers with attractive fish-scale cladding. Inside the house the original interiors have been almost entirely preserved, including tiled stoves, doors, molded ceiling cornices and even a stained-glass window with colored glass. The site also houses the Museum of Technical Thought "Marfa Posadnitsa," dedicated to the technical achievements of factory owners and industrialists, the life of peasant-industrialists, artel workers and boilermakers-riveters, as well as the barge "Marfa Posadnitsa," built in 1907.
