Chudovo Local History Museum
About museum
The history of the Chudovo Local History Museum began in 1987, when V. N. Klimushin organized a local historians' section. In the first years of the section's existence the main task was to collect exhibits for the future museum. They were received as private donations from local historians and collectors, as well as through publications in the local newspaper 'Rodina' and radio advertising. After five years of assembling the collections, in 1993 the museum's first exhibition, dedicated to the history of the Chudovo region, was opened. In 2001 the museum obtained legal entity status and the name Municipal Institution 'Chudovo Local History Museum'. Its holdings now number more than 10,000 inventory items. In 2012 the municipal budgetary institution received a non-residential building with an area of 294.8 sq. m, and in 2018 it was transferred to permanent use.
