Cherepanovsky Local History Museum
About museum
In 1967, on the second floor of the District Palace of Culture building, the Cherepanovsky Local History Museum was opened; in 1984 it was awarded the title "People's". It houses documents and items specifically related to the history of this district, and no other museum contains such a large amount of material about the Cherepanovsky District. Here local residents and visitors can learn about the history and nature of the region, as well as its culture, applied folk art, and works by local artists. Schoolchildren and students also use the museum's materials for writing papers. Special attention is paid to the department dedicated to the native region's nature. The museum presents almost 4,000 diverse exhibits, including 207 items of local traditional household life and more than one hundred paintings. Meetings with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, school lessons, and other events are held here.
