In 2008, a museum exhibition called 'The Fairyland of the Snow Maiden' was established at the Istoki Center, a supplementary education institution located in a picturesque spot near the gates of Moskovskaya Zastava. The center's building is a 19th-century architectural monument — the Salt Shop dating from 1820. The museum presents numerous exhibits, including 'Folk Costume of the Russian Provinces', 'Legends of the Kostroma Land', 'Family Relics of 19th-Century Merchants and Industrialists', as well as halls dedicated to the work and biography of the writer Alexander Nikolayevich Ostrovsky.
