Charyshsky District Local History Museum
About museum
In 1984 the building was transferred to the Department of Culture, and with the active support of the secretary of the District Committee of the CPSU, Nina Ivanovna Klepikova, the process of collecting the first exhibits began. Schoolchildren, enthusiasts and pensioners were involved. In the first years the main collections were formed – fossils, stuffed animals, ethnographic and photo‑documentary items. Since 1995 the archaeological collection began to take shape and grow. The 'Ancient History of the District' department was created thanks to cooperation with the region's universities, the education system and the district's cultural institutions. The museum became part of the supplementary education program 'Introduction to Archaeology' at the Charysh Center for Children's Creativity.

Collection of rushnyks (towels) — 19th century — 12 items. Household bells, 19th–early 20th centuries — 30 items. Samovar collection — 18 items. Collection of pre-revolutionary coins and paper money — 140 items. Archaeological collection — 120 items. The most interesting items from the holdings.
