About museum
The Almetyevsk Art Gallery was opened on August 26, 1975 thanks to the initiative of the talented teacher and artist Gennady Alexeyevich Stefanovsky. Its collections contain more than a thousand works of painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative-applied arts, mainly Soviet and Tatar art. The museum's collections tell the history of Almetyevsk and the development of visual arts in the republic and neighboring regions, and also restore to memory the names of many deserving artists. The museum hosts retrospective exhibitions as well as contemporary art presentations that attract many visitors. It also holds methodological, research, and educational events.
