The all-Russian educational event 'Night of Museums', dedicated to family values and titled 'From Generation to Generation. Family Heirlooms', at the A.N. Radishchev Museum drew many guests of different ages, who not only visited the museum's exhibitions and displays but also took part in a special program.
The event began with the educational-entertainment program 'What Our Grandfathers Played', whose participants learned about the traditions and rites of the Russian people passed down from generation to generation. Young participants on the manor grounds took part in traditional folk games and pastimes that embodied the best national traditions.
During the interactive game 'Mosaic of Family Values: Traditions and Heirlooms', visitors took part in an educational quiz, completed various tasks on the theme of family traditions, and learned about the family heirlooms of writers A.N. Radishchev, A.I. Kuprin, M.Yu. Lermontov and I.I. Lazhechnikov.
At the 'Family Tree' master class, guests were told that for a long time knowing one's family tree was considered a matter of honor, respected and encouraged, since knowing the history of one's ancestors makes it much easier to study the history of one's country. Participants made a family souvenir out of colored paper and cardboard using appliqué techniques to later add their own photos at home.
Visitors attended a program at the Radishchev family church called 'The Radishchev Family Heirloom – the Family Icon' and heard the story of the family icon, which was commissioned for the church by the writer A.N. Radishchev's younger son, Afanasy Aleksandrovich, in 1866.
A large and diverse audience gathered for the concert in the manor house 'Bless, O Lord, the Family' by the youth vocal-instrumental ensemble 'Point of Light' at the Nikolo-Pokrovsky Church in the town of Kuznetsk, Penza Region. Visitors heard popular children's songs, Orthodox compositions in contemporary arrangements, and church psalms reworked into blues, jazz, country and rap.
In the museum's literary exhibition, guests attended the theatrical program 'Kept an Attachment to the Family in His Soul', dedicated to the 275th anniversary of A.N. Radishchev's birth, featuring staged performances, and took part in games and entertainments.
The 'Night of Museums' event concluded with a screening of a film about the revival of family and national traditions observed by several generations: 'Trial by the Aul' — a Russian family comedy produced by the Dombayfilm studio, directed by Islam Satyrov.
Throughout the evening, museum visitors had the opportunity to take souvenir photos in the photo area 'Portrait of a Family in the Interior of Time'.
