For students of Secondary School No. 2 in Kuznetsk, the museum program "Languages and Culture of the Peoples of Russia" took place, whose participants learned how many peoples live in the Russian Federation and about their linguistic diversity, which is one of the main treasures of our country. Russia is a multinational state, and alongside the Russian language the native languages of the peoples live here peacefully. Each people is the guardian of unique traditions, culture, and language.

Museum staff told visitors how great the role of the Russian language is for our country, that it unites peoples living in Russia and abroad. At the same time, every Russian has the constitutional right to use their native language and to freely choose the language of communication, upbringing, education, and creativity.

Guests of the museum discussed the ethnic composition of the Penza Region — the region is home to representatives of more than 100 nationalities. The schoolchildren took an interesting test that checked whether they could understand how residents of Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Yakutia, or Dagestan speak.

In conclusion, the children concluded that a people exists as long as its members honor and pass their culture from generation to generation and as long as they speak their native language. Losing it impoverishes society, because each language is a unique manifestation of human thought and culture.

Events at the A. N. Radishchev Museum are held by appointment at: 8 (84157) 5-16-25
