Exhibition "Memory of Manor Interiors"
About exhibition
The exhibition presents 20 works by Western European masters from the museum collection. The exhibits once decorated the interiors of the noble estates of the Vladimir Governorate. They include architectural views of Venice; biblical subjects such as 'The Scourging of Christ', 'Madonna and Child with Saint Joseph and John the Baptist'; 'A Fleet off the Coast of Naples'; Dutch art — 'Fish Cleaning', 'The Bean King'; a small-scale floral composition from 1674; genre sketches; a copy of a painting by the Austrian artist Friedrich von Amerling, 'Oriental Woman'; 'Hunter with a Falcon'… The canvases reflect the tastes and preferences of connoisseurs of Italian, Dutch, and German painting — the former owners of the estates.
