An exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the outstanding explorer, naturalist, geographer and ethnographer Richard Maack. The jubilee exhibition tells the story of the life and scientific achievements of the Irkutsk teacher whose discoveries forever inscribed his name in the history of exploration of Siberia and the Far East. Special attention is paid to the Amur expedition - one of the most significant stages of his scientific work. Visitors will be able to learn about the results of research carried out 170 years ago and about Maack's contribution to the study of the flora, fauna and cultures of the peoples of the Amur region.
