Exhibition "Events of the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945 in Our Region" is dedicated to the military fates of our fellow countrymen, and their combat and labor feats. The exhibits convey the drama of events related to the 1941 occupation and the subsequent liberation of territories that were part of the Maloyaroslavets, Ugodsko‑Zavod, and Borovsky districts. Special emphasis in the museum's exhibition space is placed on the story of the Western Front headquarters' stay on Obninsk soil, including rare photographs of G.K. Zhukov. Rural life during the wartime turmoil is illustrated by household items and relics of the 1940s arranged in the interior of a wartime peasant hut, an electrified map of the events of the Battle of Moscow on the Maloyaroslavets–Podolsk axis, and materials about the Podolsk cadets. A large memorial complex in the exhibition is dedicated to Obninsk's first Honorary Citizen, Major General A.F. Naumov, who commanded the 312th and 53rd Rifle Divisions that liberated the territory of the future country's first science city — Obninsk.
