When you visit Pavlovsk Palace, after the overview tour of the state rooms and living quarters, be sure to visit the "Russian Domestic Interior" exhibition, located on the third mezzanine level. Created in 1976 by the palace's team of research staff under the direction of the distinguished museum specialist Anatoly Mikhailovich Kuchumov, the exhibition acquaints visitors with the history of the development of interiors in Russian noble estates and urban houses throughout the 19th century. It shows how changing fashions across the decades altered furniture styles and arrangements, how decorative fabrics contributed to the creation of a particular atmosphere in the home, and how the idea of domestic comfort was perceived in general. The exhibition can be viewed independently. Admission to the exhibition is valid only in conjunction with a ticket for the main exhibitions "Palace State Rooms (2nd floor)" and "Living Rooms (1st floor)". Pupils under 16 may obtain free admission tickets to the park and all exhibitions at the museum ticket offices upon presentation of an identity document.
