The N. N. Burdenko Memorial House-Museum opens its doors to visitors and residents of Penza. Here you can view unique exhibits — photographs and documents, pieces of furniture and books belonging to Hero of Socialist Labor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, founder of Soviet military field surgery Nikolai Nilovich Burdenko and his family. The name of the world-famous neurosurgeon is commemorated in many cities across the country where Nikolai Nilovich lived and worked at various times in his life; however, it is a particular source of pride that the museum is the only one in Russia and is located in the Penza region, which became the cradle of the brilliant scientist.
