The Vereshchagin house-museum, located in the historic center of Cherepovets, preserves the memory of the family that gave the world two outstanding figures – Nikolai Vereshchagin, the founder of the dairy industry in Russia and the creator of the Vologda butter recipe, and Vasily Vereshchagin, the famous painter. The interior of the memorial house has been carefully recreated based on Vasily Vereshchagin's recollections in his autobiographical book 'Childhood and Adolescence'. The exhibition 'A Life's Work' tells the story of Nikolai Vereshchagin, an extraordinary man who was able to change the lives of many people and influence the development of the state, who by his personal example effectively created a new branch of the national economy in Russia. The Vereshchagin family is a vivid example of the possibilities of home upbringing, of open horizons and the potential inherent in every person, and a testament to the incredible heights that can be reached through firm character, willpower, a desire to learn and the wish to become better.
