Museum of Tyumen Stories
About museum
A space of uniqueness. People and things.
An authentic interior, original furniture and household items allow you to look back 50–100 years and imagine yourself as an inhabitant of a small wooden house in the village of Oshkukovo or on the outskirts of Tyumen — in Zatyumenka.
The museum's exhibition displays the everyday surroundings of my great-grandmother Anna Kornilovna Oshkukova's family, a 'hereditary peasant', whose ancestors were among the first, at the end of the 16th century, to settle in Western Siberia from the Northern Dvina.
The museum offers more than just tours. You can watch a play, listen to a concert, host a celebration, have a photo session in urban or traditional costumes, attend a corset party, or learn something new about your city at a local history afternoon.
