About museum
The Zherdevsky People's Local History Museum was established in 1967. It currently occupies two exhibition halls with a separate entrance and an enfilade layout. Since 2006 the museum's director has been L. P. Popovich. Over the years it has remained a center for the study of the history and natural environment of the native region. The museum also conducts off-site excursions, creative meetings, interest-club sessions, and works closely with educational and club institutions, libraries, and the mass media. In addition, trips are made to collect historical materials. The museum houses more than 2,560 exhibits and has an annual attendance of about 6,000 people. Among them are a mammoth skull, a painting by A. I. Antipov titled 'Nosovsky Monastery', a square table, an armchair, a sofa from Nosovsky Monastery dated 1905, and a cup awarded to the workers of Zherdevsky District.
